Sneak Peek Sunday continues...

It's Sneak Peek Sunday, again, and my task is to post exactly 6 paragraphs. I'm sharing a little more from my fun contemporary 'corporate sabotage' mystery - TAKE ME NOW. If you read last weeks entry you’ll have a better guess about what’s happening! (And if you didn't you'll find it in the acrchives)

The story so far:

Aela has come to Nairn's Scottish island castle to interview for a job as a 'jenny all' -  chaffeur and office assistant extraordinaire. She will be driving not only his cars, but piloting his floatplane and flying his jet. She really wants the temporary job for a few weeks, but the boss is not what she expected when she is ferried to the island of Lanera. He seems totally drunk and almost comatose, though he still manages to make a bumbling pass at kissing her.

Continued….

“’Scuse…me.” Shrugging himself upright with his good leg his whole body tilted. “Got to go, Mz…?”

He couldn’t even remember her name. And it seemed he hadn’t a clue about what they’d just shared.

“Wait a minute, you reckless idiot! Where’s your damned bedroom?” Jumping up, she wedged him against the desk, puffing as his whole weight bore down on her, his head plastered against her face.

His mouth quirked upwards, his chuckle tickling her ear. “Oh yeah. Y wanna go bed…me?”

A disgusted huff passed her lips. “You need to be in bed. Just tell me where.”

“I like you.” Garbled words mumbled as his mouth settled on her ear lobe, his tongue licking the cheap fuchsia colored earring, and then her heated flesh as he moved along her jaw. “Like…woman wi… drection, not ’fraid t’ask what y’ want.”

Blurb:
Nairn Malcolm’s looking for the impossible. He needs a highly skilled, enterprising aide who’ll be at his beck and call 24/7. No ordinary Jane Doe will do. He doesn’t expect the only candidate who drops in at his Scottish castle for an interview to be so competent…or so stunning.
Aela Cameron’s got exactly the right mix of talents to satisfy all Nairn Malcolm’s needs, and more. She loves the jobs he needs done, adores his castle, and finds his frenetic lifestyle energising. But she’s only looking for temporary: not to fall in love with the man.
Can Nairn convince Aela she’s tailor-made for him in every way…and not a passing fancy?

  1. Lol nice drunken writing, Nancy. This sounds such a fab read, she gets to play with the rich boys toys -- how much fun would that be!!
